2008 August > Rural Milton is Now High-speed! High speed internet towers are now complete and rural Milton is high-speed! To celebrate, Campbellville race car driver Robin Buck, along with his NASCAR CTS race car, joined forces with Milton Mayor Gord Krantz and guests at a special ceremony as Milton “crossed the finish line” on the project. Rural Milton residents and businesses joined in on the festivities that took place at Mohawk Racetrack. There was a cake-cutting and remarks by dignitaries, plus of course the opportunity to meet and get autographs and photos with Robin Buck. The project was made possible by $480,600 in funding from the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs’ (OMAFRA) “Rural Connections …The Ontario Municipal Rural Broadband Partnership” program. For more information, please contact Pam Ross, Town of Milton at 905-878-7252 ext. 2170 or pam.ross@milton.ca or go to www.milton.ca or www.xplornet.com.
