Milton Walk of Fame Ceremony
Milton is a very special place with very special people - no matter how you measure them. That's how the Walk of Fame came about said John Challinor of the Milton Historical Society. Milton's Walk of Fame acknowledges the international and national achievements of successful Miltonians. Created in 2007 as Milton's 150th Anniversary Legacy project, this program recognizes local athletes, sports, actors, writers, musicians, entrepreneurs', government, health and science figures. Seven new inductees achieved recognition at this year's ceremony. They were actor Matthew Banks, bag-pipe player Gail Brown, singer Father Mark Curtis, doctor and war hero Dr Clarkson Freeman (posthumous), professional angler Bob Izumi, professional wrestler Pete McMullen (posthumous), and doctor and missionary Dr William Edgar Robertson (posthumous).
Each Walk of Fame inductee is permanently recognized in the glass corridor which links the historic Town Hall (Town Hall West) to the new addition (Town Hall East). For more information please contact the Milton Historical Society at www.miltonhistoricalsociety.ca or call 905-875-4156.
