Jennifer Smith Kicks off Campaign for Ward 2 Council Seat

Milton Town Council will be getting a fresh new look this October, with the election of one councillor for each of the 8 newly defined wards. Jennifer Smith announced that she has filed her papers and is immersed in preparations to win the bid for the newly redistributed Ward 2's solitary seat. Smith, a well known participant in a wide range of local activities from community activism to arts and cultural groups including the Milton Choristers feels the time is right for her to represent her friends and neighbours at Town Council. Smith added "This is an exciting time for Milton. I am proud to live, work and play in this community, and I look forward to being Ward 2's strong voice on Town Council as we move together into the future." Smith's many innovative ideas include an on-line community portal where Ward 2 residents can regularly consult with her about their concerns, opinions and ideas for Milton today and in the future. Jennifer visited the free hearing assessment clinic at Hearsay Speech & Hearing Centre on January 19th, 2010 where she officially announced her candidacy.
