February Heart Month Campaign Kick-Off

Great things happen when you put your heart into it, particularly in February! The Heart & Stroke Foundation's official Heart Month campaign kick-off was commemorated by the flag raising with Mayor Krantz at Town Hall recently. February was Heart Month across Canada where thousands of volunteers went door to door collecting donations for life saving heart disease and stroke research. In Milton alone, there were 340 of your neighbors hitting local streets with a goal of raising $128,000 in Halton. This campaign funds research into heart disease, which is the number one cause of death for Canadians. The Heart and Stroke Foundation, a volunteer-based health charity, leads in eliminating heart disease and stroke and reducing their impact through the advancement of research and its application, the promotion of healthy living, and advocacy. The Foundation is dedicated to improving the health and quality of life not just for heart and stroke patients, but all Ontarians. Every gift means real results that change lives. If you would like more information on how to get involved please contact your Halton office at 905-634-7732, or visit www.heartandstroke.ca. Way to go Milton!
